Handmade with Hope: The Women Behind our Handcrafted Pieces

There’s a saying we’ve all heard: “There’s strength in numbers.” You’ll see it on graphic tees, hear it echoed in sports arenas, and find it painted across movements. But I’ve also come to believe that there can be a weakness in it, too.
When the crowd grows numb, so do we. When the world collectively turns a blind eye to injustice, it becomes easier for each of us to do the same. We stop noticing, and we stop caring. Slowly, the things that once moved us deeply become background noise in our busy lives. Sometimes, it takes breaking our rhythms to break our hearts again.
That happened to me one day—when I stepped inside the Correctional Institution for Women.
I walked in with assumptions and preconceived notions. I didn’t really know what to expect, but I expected nothing good. Instead, I was met with warmth. The women greeted me with kindness and vulnerability. At that moment, the labels and headlines fell away. They were no longer “inmates” or “prisoners.” They were mothers, daughters, sisters, and women with dreams—women who, just like all of us, are hoping for a better future.
The CIW is the Philippines' main correctional facility for women. It doesn’t just provide custody, it offers rehabilitation, healing, and, most importantly, hope through opportunity. What makes CIW stand out is its commitment to helping these women rebuild their lives through livelihood programs that allow them to learn, work, and support their families with dignity.
At Bethel Interiors & Co., we believe in second chances. Our dream is to be more than just a design studio—we want to be a partner in the transformation of lives.
This vision comes to life in our debut pillowcase collection. We sourced all our fabrics from local artisans across the Philippines and worked hand-in-hand with the women of CIW to bring each piece to life. Every stitch carries a story. Every pattern reflects a shared hope—for renewal, for redemption, for a future that’s no longer defined by the past.

These pillowcases aren’t just decor. They’re a reminder that beauty can come from brokenness and that everyone deserves second chances.
Our pillowcase collection officially launches this Saturday, July 12. We can’t wait for you to see it and be part of a story that’s still being written—one stitch at a time.
